Fall

Hi My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

How are you doing?  No, I mean how are you doing really.  AKA: how is it with your soul?  People ask us all the time, "how are you?" and we just reply, "I am doing fine." while we are really struggling with problems, physical or financial or mental/emotional, or even spiritual.  Of course some people don't really want to hear about our problems.  One thing is for sure, if we keep our problems to ourselves then like leaves at fall time we will fall.  Many a mountain has been made out of a mole hill.  Most problems, if taken care of early enough, are easily handled.  But when we let them fester and we try to ignore them those little problems rob us of our peace, our ability to focus or to enjoy our blessings.  "What can someone else do about my problems?" you may ask.  At the very least they can pray about it and prayers can make a difference especially when there are lots of them.  1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety/cares on Him because He cares for you"  and Jesus means what He says.  John 14:14, "You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it".  Ephesians 6:18, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."  You and I pray for other people so it is alright to let them pray for you.  James 5:16b, "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

The seasons change and life goes on and there will be troubles, on that we can depend.  This is a broken world we live in and it is full of trouble and problems.  The good news is that God has not left us to fend for ourselves. Jesus said, " I am with you always, even to the end of the age."  So when someone asks you how you are, give them a little bit of reality and ask them to pray.  "How are you?", "Well, I have been better.  I could use some of your prayers.  Thanks."

Come to church.  Take your problems upstairs to the complaint department.  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are waiting to help you because they love you.  Praise be to God!

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
