The Good News

My Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Hear the Good News!  While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us;  all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved;  for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life;  the chastisement of our peace is uon Him and by His stripes we are healed;  greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world; we have favor with God and man; we can do all things thru Christ who strengthens us; with God all things are possible;  if God be for us who can be against us and the list goes on.  It is good news, even great news.  These and so many more are promises from God to us.

Went on vacation to Canadohta Lake, north of Meadville and just south of Union City.  It is a quaint lake with plenty of fishing, swimming, boating, and campfires.  Peace and quiet, ahh!  That is until we opened the back door of the cottage we were staying in.  Zooom!  The grandchildren were running from their cottage across the yard and into our cottage and it was pandemonium from there on out.  I have to admit, we loved it.  Fish jumping in the lake, mist on the watery glass of the lake, the crackle of flames,  the smell of woodsmoke, good neighbors, good food, wonderful landlords,(the Lloyds) and lots more.  All blessings from God the Father.

Aches and pains, automobile accidents, bills, insults, fears, worries, persecutions, loneliness, addictions, illness, diseases, and a whole lot more problems..These too shall pass.   This world is not our home and there are better days ahead for all who believe in Jesus Christ.  As the Word of God says we are in this world but we are not of this world.  So lets do all the good we can while we still can.  And lets do it for Jesus' glory.

Yep, we are indeed a blessed people.  We have shoe laces, indoor plumbing, toilet paper, pencils, erasers, toothpicks, toothbrushes, freedoms, choices, time, music, memories, vehicles, gum, bandaids, pets, friends and family.  Blessed.  Headed for Heaven. Good News!

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
