Happy Holidays, er, Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and a Happy Blessed New Year Everyone,

Okay, we are about to enter into the busy pull your hair out juggle everything all at once zone.  I love it.  For a schedule of events here at our church please give us a call at 724-863-6858.  What is it about Christmas that turns me into a kid again every year and I am 63 years old?  True, I get a toy for Christmas even if it is only a DVD of a movie that I want to see.  It could be tools or a puzzle game or something electronic.  As long as it is something that I can play with then I am a happy camper.  Oh, I like getting clothes.  It seems like I always need something new to wear for work anyways.  Watches are nice although my family knows I am very picky about my watches.  Yes, I have a display case with watches and I have a repair kit for them as well.  Ooh, a remote control drone or helicopter?  I have both of those and i have 2 pair of 3D goggles.  Maybe a keyboard or metal detector?  sigh, I have those too.  The list goes on.  Maybe I should have a yard sale or one Christmas I should re-gift a bunch of stuff. So, what is it that I love about Christmas?  I gave it a lot of thought and I believe that what i like best about Christmas is the feeling that is in the air.  There is a different atmosphere at home, at work, and out in the public.  I love it.  People are more festive, gentler, kinder, and they seem to laugh more during the Christmas season.  Sure, all of the special foods and goodies are nice but nice people are better.  I suppose that is why I love handing out presents and putting on special Christmas events at church.  I do it in order to promote that Christmas feeling of goodwill on earth.  Love the LORD your God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and love one another.  Christmas is a good place to start doing all of that.  I think I know what I am getting for Christmas from my wife.  I am so excited.  It will be fun to play with.  Of course there is always a chance that I won't get it, but that is okay too.  As long as it isn't just a pair of socks, underwear, a tie, or hankies.  Some people might say, "nice!", but not this manchild.  You have a very Merry Christmas and a super Happy New Year.

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
