Out with the Old, In with the New

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It has been a while since I posted on here.  My bad and I am sorry.  There has been a whole lot going on and I hardly know where to begin.  Our schedule is busting at the seams as usual.  We have a lot of holiay events to get people into the mood.  Disaffiliation is the big topic in the denomination right now.  A lot of churches have left the denomination, well, they will when it is finalized at Annual Conference.  Our church voted last week at a meeting led by the District Superintendent and it was 20 to disaffiliate and 60 to remain in the United Methodist denomination.  We will wait to see what General Conference does in 2024.  If they change the Book of Discipline in a way that is not what we believe in then we will disaffiliate.  Lets see, CPR training this Tuesday, our give away this Saturday 9-noon, and 7 people to baptize next Sunday.  Blue Christmas service on the 21st at 7pm.  Christmas Eve services at 5pm, 7pm, and 11pm.  Christmas Day service at 10am.  Whew!  There is more to the schedule but these are just some of the highlights.

In the meantime I have to finish decorating, buying a few more gifts, bake cookies, and food shop for our family gathering the day after Christmas.  Hey, life is good.  What is happening in your world?  In all of the craziness do you take time out to remember the reason for the season?  When you get stressed out or in a conflict this Christmas season, take a deep breath and say, "Jesus is the reason for the season!"  God loves you and so do I.
