Pandemic

Hi My Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Wow!  The world has certainly changed, hasn't it?  It has shrunk in many ways because of this virus that has affected everyone.  We, humankind, are all in the same boat fighting for our lives and economy.   As I said before, it is our hope and prayer that the world comes out of this with more unity, kindness, and even love than what it was like before Covid-19.  The sad news is that there is a lot of bickering and finger pointing in the news.  I get it that someone may have been responsible for this disease that has killed so many and ruined so many businesses.  What I don't get is that governments are being selfish with the treatment of this virus.  Pride, arrogance, anger, and politics threaten to take away any progress we have made toward world peace and unity.  There are people in every country who are complaining about not getting enough help or the right kind or the lack of quality, etc, etc.  It is like doing ministry in a church sometimes, you will never please everyone all the time.  And then our media picks up on the "squeaky wheel" more so than the good happenings.  Grrrrr, sorry, I know I am ranting.  It is just so frustrating.  Why can't we just agree to disagree?  Why can't we just turn the other cheek?

We certainly need Jesus in our lives.  (Come Holy Spirit of God and fill us up!)  Matthew 28 has the Great Commission wherein Jesus tells us, "to go into the whole world and baptize every nation in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and teach them to obey everything that Jesus has commanded us."  This pandemic has given us a perfect opportunity to share our blessings with the world.  Now is a great time to preach the Gospel even if it means using words.  People are hurting physically, emotionally, financially, and even spiritually and we have the cure and His name is Jesus.

It is a shame how mean and nasty some "Christians" are on Facebook and other social media outlets.  There has been a lot of name calling from so-called Christians who think their opinion is more important than their obedience to Jesus.  If Matthew 28 tells us to teach the world to obey everything that Jesus has commanded us then shouldn't we obey everything Jesus has commanded us?  YES.  Come Holy Spirit and fill us with your Love.  We need help just like the rest of the world needs help.  Pray for God to heal our land, indeed, our world.  Stay safe.  Help and love others.  Spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
