Pandemic Continues

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

First, let me apologize for not posting more often.  Let me look in my bag of excuses for a good one.  NOT.  Sorry and I will endeavor to do better.  Second, I thought that with the changing of the date on the calendar that things would automatically get better.  The virus would go away, politics would settle down, civil unrest would dissipate, and the weird and extreme weather would cease. NOT.  My bad as they say because it seems that nothing has changed.  You may argue the point.  It is your right.  I will concede that things have changed but depending on which news agency you listen to things have actually gotten worse.  There is a new variant of the virus, our government and country is more divided than ever, and the weather along with natural disasters abound.  Woe is me, woe is me, woe is .....Now cut that out!  Complaining and moaning and groaning about things will not make things better, will they?  As Christians we are to be a glass half FULL people.  I know it is tough to do when the world around us is falling apart(a familiar theme), but do we depend on circumstances or on the Word of God?  Circumstances = glass half EMPTY/Word of God = glass half FULL.  John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world."  Jesus knew these days would be upon us and He knew He was the answer to our fears.  John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."  We serve a mighty God.  Give everything to the the Lord.  Don't panic.  Take a deep breath, quote Scriptures, pray, thank God, and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a hurting and fearful world.  You can do this.

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
