Snow or no Snow?

My Dear Friends,

How are you?  I am fine, thank you.  How has life been treating you?  Things have been pretty good with me.  That is there is no use in complaining, noone really cares (coz they have problems of their own) and it won't make things any better.  We had to get my wife's car inspected the other day.  She remembered to tell me it needed done late Saturday night and that it needed done by the end of the month which was Tuesday.  No problem, her car was in nice shape so it shouldn't need anything.  Wrong.  It was kinda like the weather forecast we just had last night.  We were supposed to wake up to several inches of snow with more on the way.  It was going to be a real major snow storm.  I was so excited because I love a good snow storm.  This morning there was a trace amount on the ground and a few flurries in the air.  People and organizations like schools had delayed or even canceled classes based on the weather forecast.  But  you just never know when it comes to the weather do you?  And you just never know when it comes to inspections. Upper and lower ball joinst, cv joints, rear axle seal, and brakes.  My wallet is still crying and will be for quite awhile.  That is how life is, it comes at you fast sometimes and without warning.  Tragedy, illness, financial emergencies, and other unexpected situations can really ruin our day!!!  What do we do about it?  We get through it the best that we can of course.  We also turn to the Word of God and lean on His promises such as: Philippians 4:19 "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus"; "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid"; Psalm 23, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. Your rod and staff comfort me."; Romans 8:28, "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." These and so many more promises from God give us hope and tell us that life will be okay even if it is never the same again.

As unpredictable as the weather, car inspections, or life can be we can always count on God to be the same. Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Cast all your cares upon Jesus because He cares for you the Scriptures tell us.  Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding"  I could go on and on with the promises that God has made to us.  He will never leave us nor forsake us no matter what we are going through.  So when life comes at you fast turn to the Word of God, immerse yourself in it, and keep the Faith.

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
