Things Change and Always Stay the Same

Hi My Dear Sisters and  Brothers in Christ,

Here is a little ditty that my father-in-law taught me a long time ago.  It makes perfectly no sense?  "one day in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight.  Back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot one another.  A deaf policeman heard the noise, he came running and shot the two dead boys.  Now if you don't believe this lie is true, ask the blind man, he saw it too."  Makes about as much sense as  zombie movies.  Life doesn't always make sense either.  Bad things happen to good people all the time or at least so it seems.  They get diseases or lose a job or get hurt.  Bad people have good things happen to them like hitting a lottery ticket or living a long life.  And why do things have to change all the time?  Movies and music have changed, life styles have changed, modern inventions have changed the way we live also.  I said I would never buy bottles water(you can get it out of the tap) and I would never pay for air for my tires.  Oh, and I will not text on my phone.  Well, guess what?  Yep, I do all those things now.  I wear black socks with my tenner shoes.  When I was a teenager that was considered really dorky, but now...?  People living with people, same sex marriages, pot, maryjane, weed is legal, sort of, I think.  Politics?  Don't even get me started there.  Political correctness has gone overboard.  And life goes on.

This has really turned into a rant page for me.  Sorry, but it feels kinda good.  What really want us to know is that Jesus is with us just like He said He would be in Matthew 28, to the end of the age.  We are never alone.  Of course it is not the same as big brother snooping on us.  I just heard last night on the news that our cell phones, computers, and even our assistants like Alexa and Google record and pass on our conversations to companies who can then market their products to us.  Creepy!  NO, Jesus is with us as the Good Shepherd.  He loves us, provides for us, guides us, teaches us, and empowers us.  Romans 8:28 "We know that in all things God works together for the good of those who love Him and are the called according to His purposes".  In all things!  Thank you Jesus.  No matter what we have gone through or are going through God will use it for our good.  He will never leave nor forsake us.  That is good news and makes perfect sense  Emmanuel, "God with Us".

Happy Blessed Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas,

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
