Hi,
I hope and pray that you are doing well my sisters and brothers in Christ. Today is a brief blog about choosing wisely the friends we have in our lives. I think that a lot of us have the friends we do just by accident or coincidence. I do not think we put much though into who is our friend and who isn't. We meet someone and we either like them or we don't, it is that simple. However, if we let a person into our lives and routines then that person contriubutes to our ideas and thought processes. They become influencers. Some to a large degree and others to a lesser degree. This is sometimes referred to as 'peer pressure' and can affect the decisions we make. We want to make Godly decisions so it is important to have good influences in our lives which includes having "good" friends.
Luke 6:45 "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of." Some people are very charismatic even though they can be very bad at the same time. It may hard to resist having some people as a friend. We think we can fix them or control how they affect us and our thoughts, but the truth of the matter is that we will be influenced to some degree. Maybe too much. Phiippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whateve is pure, whaatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things." This goes for our "friends". Some people are a bad influence so think and act carefully before you allow someone to be your "friend". God loves you and so do I.
